A native of Houston, Texas, Brian T. Robinson D.D.S., M.D. attended college at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he completed a degree in chemistry. He pursued graduate school at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. While there he obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree and graduated third in his class. Upon graduating, Dr. Robinson was inducted in to the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Robinson completed his training at The University of Pennsylvania’s Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program in Philadelphia. As part of his six year residency, Dr. Robinson also obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
After finishing residency, Dr. Robinson joined Maryland Oral Surgery Associates(MOSA), where he practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. His surgical interests include infections of the head and neck, dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, facial fractures, and facial trauma. He is on staff at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Hospital Center.
In addition to his work at MOSA, Dr. Robinson is an active participant in the professional dental community. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Maryland Dental Society (SMDS), which is a component of The American Dental Association, for over ten years, including one year as President. He is the fifth member of MOSA to be President of SMDS. He also serves as a delegate for the Maryland State Dental Association’s House of Delegates and is a member of numerous committees within the Maryland State Dental Association. He is also active in numerous dental and Oral and Maxillofacial study clubs in the local area.

Ziad Batrouni, DDS

Dr. Ziad Batrouni, DDS joined Maryland Oral Surgery Associates in 2006. Dr. Batrouni received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech; he then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Northwestern University Dental School, graduating in the top 10% of his class, and obtaining multiple academic and research awards. Dr. Batrouni completed his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell University Medical Center. Dr. Batrouni is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Batrouni is Vice Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center, as well as a clinical instructor at the Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Batrouni cares deeply about his patients’ comfort and about maintaining outstanding communications with his patients’ dental care providers. He has tailored his offices and trained his staff to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. This starts with a thorough consultation visit, to put his patientsat ease. Lisa Cohen, DDS
DR. LISA S. COHEN
Dr. Cohen is from St. Louis, Missouri. She came to the Washington, DC area in 1993 to attend Georgetown University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She worked as a paralegal for two years and during that time was exposed to dentistry after meeting persuasive and excited members of the profession. She then attended the University of Maryland College of Dentistry and graduated in 2003. She was third in her class, graduated Magna Cum Laude and received numerous clinical and academic awards, including being inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. She subsequently received her Oral and Maxillofacial surgery training at the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Cohen was trained extensively in dentoalveolar, trauma, reconstructive, oral pathology, orthognathic and dental implant surgeries. She served as Chief Resident during her last year and completed the program in 2007. Also in 2007, she accompanied Dr. Stark to Cambodia to aid in the treatment of craniofacial anomalies at the Angkor Hospital for Children.
She is now an attending at the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Cohen is board certified and has been a member of Maryland Oral Surgery Associates since 2007. Dr. Cohen is an active member of several organizations, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the National Dental Association. She serves on the executive board of the Southern Maryland Dental Association and the Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists.
Dr. Cohen resides in Washington, DC with her husband and their two young children.

Steven Kishter, MD, DDS
DR. STEVEN R. KISHTER, M.D., D.D.S.
Dr. Kishter completed his B.Sc. in Biology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He received his D.D.S. from the University of Maryland, and his M.D. from the Albany Medical College in New York. After several years of training in general surgery, Dr. Kishter completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, treating complex cancer cases and research focused on tumor immunology. He subsequently completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland.
Pursuing interests in research, Dr. Kishter spent several years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Director for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Madison, New Jersey, where he was responsible for the development and management of clinical trials. In addition to surgical practice, he is also active as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry, in the area of drug development strategies and clinical study design.
Dr. Kishter’s surgical interests include dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. He participates within the dental community as an active member of both national and regional surgery societies and dental study clubs. Dr. Kishter is attending staff at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

Dr. Iyer is an exceptionally talented Board-Certified Oral Maxillofacial surgeon with five years of private practice experience. She is particularly focused in the areas of dental implants, pathology, and dento-alveolar as well as orthognathic surgery. She received her Doctorate in Medicine (MD) from the University of Texas Health Science Centers School of Medicine, and completed her residency as Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same facility. Prior to that she obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Iyer was initially drawn to medicine to work with and help other people, a quality that is clearly demonstrated by her warm and compassionate personality. She initially chose dentistry because it represents an intersection of healthcare and artistry. Living in Northern Virginia with her husband and two sons, Dr. Iyer enjoys reading, travel, and hiking with her family. She and her sons are avid cooks, and are constantly broadening their horizons with new cuisines and recipes.
Her involvement with the community is inspiring. As a coach for the Odyssey of the Mind program (a competition that encourages out of the box thinking from Kindergarten to High School) she uses her experience to help children develop valuable creative and reasoning skills. Dr. Iyer also volunteers at local homeless shelter and has participated in events such as Mission of Mercy.

A native of suburban Philadelphia, Dr. Hoffrichter completed his bachelors degree at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1991. After finishing his four years of dental training at the New York University College of Dentistry in1995, he continued on to pursue specialty training in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and surrounding area hospitals. Upon completion of his residency training in 1999,Dr. Hoffrichter moved to Newport, Rhode Island, to accept an associate position in private practice. In late 2000, he moved back to Maryland, where he lives in Frederick County with his wife, Barri, and their children, Andie and Adam.
A native speaker of English, Dr. Hoffrichter is also fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.
Dr. Hoffrichter is a Board Certified Oral& Maxillofacial Surgeon and has been practicing in Frederick since early2001.

Dr. Jones graduated with honors from Duke University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He obtained his Dental degree from Stony Brook University, and completed a General Practice Residency in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Jones then pursued further training with a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the nation’s capital. He served as the chief resident in his final year at this Level I Trauma Center.
During his time at the rigorous 4-year program at Medstar, Dr. Jones also did rotations at John Hopkins Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Jones’ surgical residency provided him extensive training pertaining to the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including: mouth, jaws, and face including dental implants, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), pathology, maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, and anesthesia. Dr. Jones enjoys volunteering and has participated in international outreach in Jamaica.
Dr. Jones has done extensive medical research during his training, as well as authoring a medical presentation at Stony Brook University.
In his free time, he enjoys watching and attending sporting events (particularly Duke basketball), snowboarding, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr. Itani is a board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon who joined the MOSA team in 2023, transitioning from his former practice in Washington D.C. He is trained in and performs the full scope of oral surgery, including but not limited to dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, treatment of pathology, corrective jaw surgery, management of trauma, and the administration of anesthesia. He additionally continues to educate the next generation of oral surgeons and is an attending at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Itani grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. He received his bachelor's degree in physiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He then completed a master's degree in biomedical science at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey prior to matriculating in dental school at the University of Maryland. During his time at Maryland Dental School, Dr. Itani's surgical proficiencies were recognized by his faculty and Dr. Itani received the AAOMS award for "Outstanding Student in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery." He would then pursue specialty training within the field, and he was the only student from his class of 130 to successfully matriculate into residency training. He matched into his #1 choice residency program at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he would spend his final year of training serving as Chief Resident.
Dr. Itani always practices under the guiding philosophy of "Treat the patient, not the problem." Every treatment is a discussion, and Dr. Itani strives to educate his patients and empower them to make well-informed decisions regarding their own care. Phillip Nguyen, DDS

Dr. Phillip Nguyen was born in Chicago, Illinois but grew up in Lorton, Virginia. He considers Northern Virginia his home having graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He then attended Virginia Tech for his undergraduate degree where he graduated summa cum laude in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. He was always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2015. While in dental school, Dr. Nguyen was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society for his excellence in academics and leadership, an honor only given to the top students of each graduating class.
Following graduation, Dr. Nguyen completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at the University of Pennsylvania before finishing his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at West Virginia University School of Dentistry and Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he was chief resident. The residency program at WVU provided Dr. Nguyen with extensive knowledge and skill in dentoalveolar and implant surgery, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, maxillofacial trauma, anesthesia, and diagnosis and treatment of pathology.
Dr. Nguyen has also had the opportunity to give back to the community by participating in Mission of Mercy projects and volunteering at the free clinic.
In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys cooking, fishing, amateur powerlifting, spending time with his wife, Jean, trying new restaurants, and playing with his dogs Bonnie and Oliver.
