Maryland Oral Surgery Associates was formed in 1969 and is the oldest and largest Oral Surgery practice in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. It is the fifth-largest Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in North America. Dr. Nathan has been with this group since 1985 and has been the senior partner and President of the organization since 1992. MOSA started with a single location in College Park, MD, and has since grown to 8 locations with 14 surgeons. MOSA enlarged from our initial 1300 square feet to well over 30,000 square feet of clinical and administrative space.

In 2008, MOSA officially formed a separate administrative entity called MOSA Management to relieve the surgeons of all administrative responsibilities and focus solely on patient care. MOSA Management provides advanced staff training, supervision of all offices, accounting services, and supply and equipment purchasing. MM also negotiates insurance contracts and credentialing of Surgeons with insurance companies and hospitals. It has an HR director, accounts payable for all bills, and in-house staff CPA and staff accountants, marketing staff members, and senior insurance supervisors. It has a central location in Rockville, and in 2018, added a satellite office to better accommodate those staff members traveling from unusually long distances to the primary office. MOSA's offices span nearly 100 miles around 5 counties and Washington D.C.

In September 2021, MOSA partnered with Beacon Oral Specialists, a national network of leading OMS practices. Together with Beacon's centralized support team, MOSA will continue to provide exceptional patient care as our practice grows.
